Football players of the Quincy Notre Dame High School Raiders eat and listen to members of the Marching Illini perform in a tailgate tent. Over Raider Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Bill Connell's 17-year tenure at Quincy Notre Dame, his Raiders have attended at least one college football game per year, with schools in the past including Illinois, Notre Dame, Purdue, Kansas, and Northwestern. County Market, headquartered in Quincy, IL, sponsored the meal for the players and has for several years. Connell said of County Market's altruism, "They have always been good to us and treated us to a meal. Without this experience, a lot of these boys would never have a chance to go to a college football game."
